The Woodpecker Ponds at Hunter Ark.

This tract of forty acres is divided into four ponds separated by levees. developed for fish farming, it is now being dedicated to Waterfowl Habitat, managed as Moist Soil Units. There is a well which furnishes water for irrigation and flooding. For convenience the ponds are identified according to their directional orientation which is made easy due to the Section and township surveying. Since the entrance to the property is at the Southeast Corner, the Ponds are named counterclockwise. Southeast, Northeast, Northwest and Southwest.
